Active Shooter Training & Videos
Back in September of 2012 we first shared the video created by the city of Houston: Run. Hide. Fight. This powerful piece has since been viewed over 9.2 million times. It is an exceptional reference and resource for helping people think through how to respond should they find themselves in the midst of an active shooter event.
As we all know, sadly, since 2012 active shooter/assailant events have been increasing. This past month alone we saw three tragic mass shooting events in Georgia, Colorado and California.
These types of events have resulted in more and more training and videos coming out. A quick search on YouTube yields large results. One that we found to be really well done was, “Surviving an Active Shooter,” from the University of Missouri, which offers instructions on how to respond on a college campus.

Law enforcement agencies across the country are also gathering groups of citizens and training them how to respond to active shooter events. CNN shared a story on a “Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events” training held in an Atlanta suburb:

If you or your organization has put together a training video or training information, please forward it to me and we’ll include it in a future edition of our newsletter. Thank you.
